Omorovicza Budapest

Tina Vaia Studio and EJM Studio collaborated to design the flagship Omorovicza store in Budapest, drawing inspiration from the city’s historic Rácz Baths. The 220 square metre project reflects Omorovicza’s Hungarian heritage while embracing modern aesthetics to create a luxurious and serene retail experience.

Central to the design is the tall arch in the middle of the store, which frames the space beautifully. This architectural feature creates a subtle division between the retail area and the stairway leading to the treatment rooms, inviting customers to explore further.

The flooring throughout the store is pale pink terracotta, sourced from Spain, chosen for its resemblance to the plaster walls of the Rácz Baths. This natural material contributes to the space’s warm and grounded ambiance, seamlessly connecting the brand’s story with its physical environment.

At the heart of the store is the striking "water table," a dark teal resin piece inspired by the bathing pools of the Rácz. This circular table, crafted from thick resin, gives the illusion of the surface of water, serving as both a focal point and a homage to the brand’s spa heritage.

The store’s interior is characterised by tonal finishes, featuring pale pink plaster walls, terracotta flooring, and copper shelving. Natural materials were used in their raw state wherever possible to create a tactile and authentic experience. Hand-glazed dark teal tiles line the staircase, introducing a smooth, glossy texture that contrasts beautifully with the earthy tones used throughout.

The design of the flagship store goes beyond aesthetics to provide a truly immersive experience. By incorporating elements reminiscent of the Rácz Baths and utilizing natural materials, the space evokes a sense of heritage and tranquility. The thoughtful interplay of textures and tones ensures that customers feel both welcomed and transported into Omorovicza’s world of luxury and wellness.

The lead design by PJoseph architects was implemented into the Institute Budapest. The first institute to open for the brand. Tina was the main lead designer and created freestanding pieces like the resin and brass POS and main feature ´water´ table with Acierta Spain. The store floor has a natural terracotta floor throughout and the cash desk was designed with pale oak wood.
