Omorovicza Mayfair

Tina Vaia collaborated once again with EJM Studio to bring to life the Mayfair Institute, the London flagship of the Hungarian skincare brand Omorovicza. Measuring 135 square metres, the vision for this project was to craft a space that pays homage to the brand’s heritage while embracing a contemporary, forward-thinking design. The result is a harmonious balance of historical references and innovative aesthetics, inspired by the brand’s roots in the architecturally significant Rácz Thermal Bath in Budapest.

Drawing inspiration from the mineral-rich ingredients central to Omorovicza’s products, Vaia and EJM Studio focused on creating a seamless connection between the skincare line and the interior design. The use of natural materials in their raw state was a cornerstone of the approach, emphasising authenticity and sustainability. This philosophy was brought to life through the interplay of textures, with a “rough vs. smooth” motif adding depth and contrast to the space. This tactile layering mirrors the multi-step process of skincare routines, fostering a sensory and immersive environment.

The materials used were carefully selected to evoke the essence of Omorovicza, with tonal finishes such as travertine, clay plaster, and terracotta paired with copper in various forms to create a luxurious yet grounded atmosphere. These elements not only enhance the brand’s story but also contribute to a serene and welcoming environment that embodies Omorovicza’s commitment to natural beauty and innovation. From the earthy textures to the harmonious palette, the design seamlessly integrates the brand’s identity with the architectural character of the building, offering customers a holistic, elevated, and immersive experience.
